Personal Description:

*ONLINE LESSONS OFFERED* I am a graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, under Gabrielle Painter and Lucy Gould. During my time at RWCMD I played and performed in the Royal Welsh Symphony Orchestra, Stoutzker Orchestra, Opera Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra (Principal 2nd violin 2015). As well as playing in large ensembles, I am passionate about chamber music and perform regularly with quartets at functions and concerts.

Since graduating, I have taken the time to explore being a freelance musician, creating opportunities for myself and immersing myself into projects offered to me. These opportunities include giving chamber music recitals with my string quartet, performing weekly at functions, session recording, pit work, taking on orchestral opportunities and teaching both children and adults.

Tutoring Experience:

I am incredibly passionate about growing and developing the arts and ensuring that children develop artistically as well as academically. I strongly believe that these work hand in hand and children who engage in the arts may benefit from a more eclectic education.

I have considerable experience in teaching children, having spent the past three years teaching for a private school, for music services and music schools and also at my house. I am able to evaluate and adapt to cater for the needs and learning preferences of each pupil. Although I am a keen and regular professional performer, I strongly believe that we have a responsibility to provide a musical education to new generations.

I also have experience in teaching adults who are either beginners or who have learned previously and are keen to play again. Some choose to focus on graded exams and are more goal focussed while others choose to play as a hobby and on a relaxed basis, I am totally flexible and am more than happy to help you with whatever you are hoping to achieve! I also provide online tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

Each lesson is tailored to the individual. No two lessons are the same and I do not take the same approach for each of my pupils. I am comfortable teaching different styles and have full knowledge of the ABRSM and Trinity exam board syllabus.
