Personal Description:

I have been teaching in the Prestwick area for some time, both young people and adults, from absolute beginners upwards.

I primarily teach classical piano, but also enjoy teaching some modern and jazz styles.

Exams are not a necessity for learning and enjoying music, and not all my pupils sit them. For some, though, the goal and the challenge of exams is important, and for that I use the ABRSM exam board.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been engaged in private piano tuition for over 20 years.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning a musical instrument can be a source of fun that everyone should have the opportunity to experience. I have tried to pass that on to all my pupils, giving them the skills they need to play the piano with confidence and enjoyment.

I try to highlight the importance of a good practice routine, so that progress can be steady and satisfying.
