I studied an Artistic Diploma in Opera at the Royal College of Music International Opera Studio and a Masters of Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music where I was supported by a scholarship from the Help Musicians UK Sybil Tutton Award, Clemence Charitable Trust, The Kathleen Trust, Mario Lanza Foundation, Rosehill Theatre, Soiree D’Or Committee, Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust, RCM Study award, Yorkshire Ladies Council of Education and the Josephine Baker Trust. For my undergraduate degree, I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where I gained a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours.
I have performed various operatic roles at the RCM Britten Theatre including Conception in Ravel’s L’heure Espagnole, Lisetta in Haydn’s il mondo della luna, Dinah in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, Lady Deborah in Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoe and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in December which was directed by Sir Thomas Allen. I also just covered the role of Tisbe for British Youth Opera’s production of La Cenerentola and performed the title role in the premiere of Joe Kiely’s opera Amira as part of The Modern Prometheus project in collaboration with the Tête à Tête and directed by Bill Bankes-Jones. Other operatic roles include Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus (Berlin Opera Academy) Sepp, Jay, Chief Hen (cover) and Innkeeper’s wife (cover) in The Cunning Little Vixen (RCMIOS), Kate in Pirates of Penzance, Melissa in Princess Ida (National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company).
I am also a keen dancer and performed the solo dancer role in The Seven Deadly sins by Kurt Weill with the Halle Orchestra and Sir Mark Elder at the Bridgewater hall. I also performed as part of the ensemble and as a solo dancer in Sondheim’s Company with RNCM opera studio.
On the concert platform, I recently performed as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall conducted by Alexander Shelley as part of their Myths and Fairytales series. I also performed Verdi’s Requiem at De Montfort Hall with Loughborough symphony orchestra and choir. I have regularly performed with choral societies and orchestras that have enabled me to tour the UK, Europe and Canada. I have appeared at venues such as Portsmouth Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, National Portrait Gallery, Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. I am also sponsored as a ‘Rising star’ by Rosehill Theatre, Whithaven led by artistic director Richard Elder. As part of this collaboration, I performed alongside pianist Anna Tilbrook. I was also awarded second prize at the Brooks Van – der –Pump English Song Competition in February 2020.
I always try and make sure singing is great fun so whether you wish to work technically, work on grades or develop your performing skills, I will always strive to have a laugh along the way. I want to help people grow as singers but also grow in confidence! I can focus on:
ABRSM Singing grades
Trinity Laban Pop & Rock grades
LAMDA Musical Theatre exams
She will focus on aspects like vocal technique, performance techniques, learning repertoire, breathing technique, musical understanding and much more. However, the method of teaching will be adapted personally to suit each individual student and their needs. See her biography for more information about Anna's experience.
