Personal Description:
Piano is my first instrument, I also play the cello. I have a Music degree and have experience in playing recitals for a performance. I am interested in composition and develop pieces using Logic for score writing.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been privately teaching piano in the Guildford area for the past ten years. I have much experience in preparing pupils for Associated Board Exams. Several pupils have gained music scholarships to King's College Wimbledon, Tormead and Hoe Bridge. I also enjoy developing a pupil's repertoire and preparing music for school concerts.
Tutoring Approach:
I have experience of teaching a wide range of ages and abilities. I provide fun lessons for beginners and extend intermediate and advanced level pupils.

Although I am fairly new to the piano, I feel I have made great progress so far and attribute this in no small part to Angela's teaching. She is able to adapt lessons and content in order to fit my desired learning outcomes, while also recommending great additional resources and learning.

From Alison (/5): Angela is an experienced piano tutor. My son is a beginner and Angela helped him to start from the basics of piano. Each time, we are given clear notes for what we learned and what need to be improved. Most of the time, my son could do his practice himself.

I played the piano as a child and I am now trying to pick it back up again as an adult for enjoyment rather than completing more exams. Angela has been extremely lovely and helpful in supporting my progress and has made very useful suggestions on where to source suitable playing materials for my standard. I am looking forward to many more lessons with Angela. I would highly recommend.

From Laura (/5): I have had so far two lessons with Angela. I am trying to retake grade 8 exam that I only passed few years back. She suggested that I warm up the scales making sure that I use a regular tempo, coordinating right and left hand and add a musical curve to their performance. She also suggested that I do additional technical exercises to improve my technique. She helped me in selecting the exam pieces. I am overall very happy so far.

Unlike many teachers you may come across, she knows how to best utilize her seemingly endless knowledge and experience to bring out the best in her tutees potential. I have only had 3 lessons with Angela thus far, but i already feel i've learnt so much! she is also very patient, allowing you to take your time and work at your own pace.
