Personal Description:
Award winning Greek violinist Anastasia has performed all over Europe including London, Edinburgh, Austria, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Brussels, Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Slovakia in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (BBC proms 2014 & 2019), The Royal Concertgebouw, The Konzerthaus , the Megaron (TCH), and the Wolkenturm-Grafenegg amongst others.
Anastasia has collaborated as a soloist with the two professional orchestras in Thessaloniki-Greece performing various repertoire including Chausson’s Poème (June 2016), the Tchaikovsky violin concerto (May 2015) and Saint-Saëns’ Havanaise (March 2014) at the Megaron Conert Hall.
As an orchestral player, Anastasia has played in numerous concerts with the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) Symphony Orchestra as a student and has also been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) between 2013-2017.
Since 2013 Anastasia has worked with conductors such as Sir-Mark Elder, Vladimir Askenazy, Semyon Bychkov, Vasily Petrenko and Edward Gardner. In 2016-2017 she was the leader of the Misbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Born in Greece, Anastasia entered the State Conservatory of Music in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2006 and graduated in 2015 winning a 1st prize and a virtuosity award. Studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Richard Deakin, she completed her BMus (1st class) in June 2019, being a prize winning scholar of the 'Athena Foundation' throughout her studies. In August 2020, Anastasia completed her MA at the Royal Academy of Music in the class of Michael Foyle as a 'St Marylebone Foundation' scholar. She also received a DipRAM for an outstanding final recital. Her lessons at the Royal Academy of Music were complemented by masterclasses with Maxim Vengerov, Tasmin Little, Ivry Gitlis and Zakhar Brohn.
Tutoring Experience:
Anastasia has always been interested in teaching. She started her teaching career as a private tutor in 2015 preparing students to achieve excellent results.
She has trained and qualified as a music teacher in Secondary Education (QTS) and has worked in various secondary schools in London.
Her students are successfully passing their ABRSM, GSCE and other exams.
Anastasia teaches beginners to advanced students of all ages.
Tutoring Approach:
Always building a safe and positive learning environment. I am adapting my lessons to the individual student needs. My lessons are fun and students engage with different activities. Most importantly want my students to have fun and enjoy their learning journey, which always leads to high achieving results.
I can also offer Group Violin Tuition for £25 per hour and per person.
