Personal Description:
I am a Manchester based bassoonist with experience teaching from beginners to advanced students. I am a double reed tutor with In Harmony Liverpool and teach in secondary schools in South Manchester. After graduating from my Postgraduate studies at RNCM I have been freelancing for 2 years, playing with various orchestras cross the North West including the BBC Philharmonic and working alongside members of Manchester Camerata and Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
Tutoring Experience:
I work at secondary schools across South Manchester as a bassoon teacher.
I am the double reed Tutor with In Harmony Liverpool, run by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchetsra
I am a deputy bassoon tutor and woodwind coach for Sheffield Music academy, on of only 15 Centres of Advanced Training across the UK
I have worked with Artis Foundation providing holisitc performing arts education to primary schools across Manchester
I have led instrument workshops with children of both primary and secondary age and undergone Music Leader training with Spitalfields Music.
Tutoring Approach:
In my teaching practise I aim to be as diverse as possible using techniques from my training in Dalcroze Eurythmics, and also in holistic arts education practise with the Artis Foundation. I endeavour to find engaging ways to connect with my students as individuals to approach all aspects of instrument learning, and incorporating music theory into my lessons in a fun way.
