Personal Description:

Hi Im Alex. Thanks for looking! I play electric and acoustic guitar, i'm 26 with over 10 years playing experience. I specialise in rock and metal styles and technique and theory but i can also cover much more including songwriting, recording and performing.

I regularly play live over the UK with my bands, one progressive metal and the other rock. I recently got back from Los Angeles where i gigged and was fortunate to record with one of the biggest producers in the business - Jeff Blue (Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bizkit amongst many others). This has resulted in the release of a new single and music video but i have also recorded and released a full length album with my other band in 2011.

I love music and have a great passion for the guitar. I have great experiences in music and lots of information to share with potential students to make them better guitarist and musicians. I would prefer to teach from my home but i can travel depending on location but this would make the lessons more expensive. I have the ability to record from home if required which can be a very useful asset.

My style is a mix of rock, metal, blues and jazz/funk.


Regarding online tuition - i have a very fast internet connection so skype lessons are not a problem.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught casually over the last few years to beginners and intermediate/adv students. Ive also covered lessons for Birmingham music school - Progress Music.

Ive been teaching regularly over the last few months both privately and at a local music school

Tutoring Approach:

I'm relaxed by nature and really easy to get along with but im also very dedicated and like to cover things thoroughly and properly. I listen to old music and modern music and im happy to teach people of all ages and skill levels. More than anything, i want the student to enjoy learning music and happy to cover requests - particular songs/techniques that a student wishes to learn for instance - but i also want to make sure students are learning and being introduced to new idea's to make them better players.
