Personal Description:
I do teach mainly guitar (Classical, Acoustic and Electric) but I also do occasionally teach bass and ukulele players. I teach students of all levels, beginners, intermediates, and those at an advanced stage. I do offer exam preparation in Rockschool, Trinity and LCME exam boards. My lessons can either be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. The length of lessons and contact time can be disussed to best match our timetables and your stage of learning. I teach from Tuesday to Saturday both during the day and in the evening.
I have regular annual checks on the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) site since I have been teaching which are currently up-to-date. I teach mainly in the Blandford, Wimborne, Poole and Bournemouth areas.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching 1-1 lessons for 17 years in schools, for music services and privately. I have been an active working musician over this period. I took degrees in Popular Music and Psychology and professional training in the Classical Guitar to grade 8, I am also self taught with over 30 years playing experience.
Tutoring Approach:
I am aware how individual we are in our music taste and the way we learn and therefore tailor my teaching to you as an individual. I teach using a mix of balanced methods taken from the traditional and contemporary perspectives based on different syllabuses. I use these in a way that will best suit you and help you play as a well rounded guitar player.
