Personal Description:

I have been a keen musician from an early age and have played piano for over 40 years. I am also a trained teacher (PGCE) and possess a diploma from the ABRSM in piano teaching. I have arranged my own local concerts to raise funds for local charities and enjoy expanding my repertoire. I am also an experienced trombonist and classical guitar player and have played in a number of bands and groups for many years. I am married with two daughters and am based in between Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had experience teaching a range of pupils from aged 6 to 50+ and have had considerable success with helping my pupils obtain distinction and merit in ABRSM and Trinity music exams. I have a range of teaching resources to help motivate and engage students and an excellent knowledge of the theory of music. I have a solid understanding of how to develop aural awareness, develop meaningful practice and improve sight reading for new music.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and supportive teacher with a willingness to help all pupils learn for the pleasure and love of music. I think it is important to give pupils the chance to progress at their own pace and there is an exciting opportunity to perform at Christmas in a local concert !
I am willing to train pupils for formal exams if desired as well as those who want to learn just for pleasure.
