Personal Description:

Aïda is an active concert pianist and the recipient of over 20 awards at international and national piano competitions. A graduate of the prestigious University of Cambridge and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she uses her passion for music and the arts to create innovative and often multidisciplinary concert experiences.

Her concert portfolio spans 11 countries, from England to Azerbaijan, and she has performed in some of the world's most famous stages including the Wigmore Hall in London or the BOZAR hall in Brussels.

She has collaborated with some of the most brilliant musical luminaries of today, such as Gilles Apap, L. Subramaniam, Valeriy Sokolov, Roby Lakatos, Iva Bittova, and Kerson Leong, and has been taught and mentored by many eminent pianists like
Ronan O’Hora, Robert Levin, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Pavel Gililov, Lev Natochenny, Edith Fischer, and Valery Piassetsky.

Her work is frequently covered by the press and has been the object of radio interviews, video interviews, and television programmes in Morocco and the UK.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 9 years of experience teaching one-to-one piano lessons, from complete beginners to semi-professional students, and from 4 year-olds to senior adults.

Although some of my students have achieved top prizes at national competitions, I have taught students with very different expectations: some wanting to pursue piano at the highest level, and some wanting to do it for fun. I am passionate about bringing music to as many people as possible and it is essential for me to understand and serve the vision of my student for their piano journey instead of sticking with 'one method for everyone'. One of my proudest achievements is to have helped two students regain their love for music and piano as they were about to give it up, due to frustrating experiences with another teacher.

I have excellent rapport with all my previous students and am honoured that many have chosen to recommend me to others.

I have also taught in group settings, and given lectures at several institutions including The Yehudi Menuhin School, Musicianship for Performers, UCL, UWC Atlantic College, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Cambridge Chamber Academy, about issues of artistic practice, artivism, and artistic communication.

I am proficient with online teaching tools and have experience teaching remotely.

Tutoring Approach:

I put vision and artistic practice at the centre of my pedagogical practice and treat my students like the artists that they are. I give them the confidence to express themselves authentically, and provide them with the methods to work towards achieving whatever dreams they may have.

In my lessons, we will approach music as a living thing, and a source from which we can learn more about ourselves and the world. I often bring up concepts from psychology and neuroscience, music theory, literature, philosophy, history, drama, and more, to help contextualise what we are trying to achieve as pianists and musicians. I found that both my casual students and my more dedicated students enjoy this approach a lot, as it allows them to find other source of inspirations, and fuel their learning on the musical front! It also allows for piano practice not just to be a 'ticking the box' exercise (God forbid!) and instead to be something that genuinely enriches one's life in broad terms.

I was lucky to have amazing teachers that made me leave my lessons bright-eyed, excited, and inspired, and my objective is to replicate this with my students.
