Personal Description:
I am a well qualified music teacher and musician with a nice relaxed approach to teaching with over 25 years experience. I am a Geneva trumpet artist ( **Web Address Removed**) and have taught in primary schools through to university level.
I like to make my lessons fun but challenging and prepare students for exams/ recitals if they so wish. I also teach improvisation skills and developing a new improvisation book.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught as a peripatetic teacher for 28 years, a classroom teacher for 2 years and a professional musician for over 35 years. I also have experience of higher education at Wolverhampton University and Leeds College of Music as a brass tutor. I run my own teaching company (Music 2 Your Ears) working in secondary and primary schools in the West Midlands.
I use ABRSM, TRINITY and LONDON COLLEGE exam boards for both brass and drums. I have overhead cameras to teach drums online and also teach brass lessons online, both worldwide.
Tutoring Approach:
I have an easy going and relaxed approach to my lessons which I tailor to a pupil's individual needs. I can teach pupils to improvise in a variety of styles and teach from beginner through to diploma standard. Many of my pupils have gone onto music college themselves and some are working in the music business.
My lessons are fun and paced according to the standard of the student. Music has made my life so much more interesting and love enriching other student's lives with the same.
I also teach adults.
