Personal Description:
I am currently studying Education and want to specialise in Special Education to work with kids that have learning or other disabilities. I am the eldest child and grandchild in my family so I was naturally responsible for helping my brother and cousins with school work and thus it lead me to want to tutor other kids because I knew how to help kids of all abilities and ages. I was also an au pair in USA for two years to a set of 8-year old quadruplets of which two had high-functioning autism.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been a tutor for 6 years now, I started while I was in high school. I thoroughly enjoyed school and was a natural overachiever, it therefore led to teachers asking me to help other kids understand our school work after school hours. I have also tutored kids from ages 7 to 17, grades 2 through 11. I had multiple students with dyslexia, ADHD and Autism. I tutor in most subjects but have the most experience in English, Math and Afrikaans.
Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my tutoring style to each students abilities and needs. I am very patient and am able to simplify complex concepts to help each child understand the work we are doing.
