Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Sulanie , I am from South Africa and I'm currently 19 years old.
I speak both English and Afrikaans fluently, and have a passion for maths and science. Since I am fluent in a second language I understand how hard it can be to learn a new language and am able to empathise with the process. I also usedto struggle with all scientific subjects, until I encountered the right tutor who believed in me and inspired me. I want to be that tutor for you!
I currently work at a tutor centre where I help children, at low levels, with Afrikaans, English Maths, Science and life skills.
I am also busy with my TEFL certification which has helped me to develop my teaching style to be as effective as possible.

Tutoring Experience:
I recently completed my grade 12 year through Cambridge international and have since started persuing teaching.
In 2022 I worked at a pre-school where I taught Afrikaans children English, this is where I discovered my love for teaching.
I am currently working on my TEFL certification while working part time at a tutoring centre where I help children from grade 4 to 7 with languages, maths and science.
I also plan on starting my Bed in 2023 in order to further help students.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe in teaching with patience and kindness in order to instil confidence in my student.
I prefer to only set forth a lesson plan once my student has had a chance to communicate with me. This helps me to create an effective lesson plan that caters to your skill level and goals.
When teaching language; I mainly focus on conversational language, since I believe that is where learning starts. However; I am still able to help with reading, writing, homework and speech preperation.
With science and maths I believe that understaning and practice are the two main keys. Therefore I will be certain that my students understand everything we work on and will test this understanding, as well as strengthen it, with extra practice materials.
I make a point of creating an informal and comfortable environment in my class to set my students at ease and help them focus on the work to the best of their abilities.
