Personal Description:

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check their understanding continually. I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential.
I am an open-minded, friendly, reliable and trustworthy person who pays attention to detail.

Tutoring Experience:

TEACHING ASSISTANT@THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WITWATERSRAND

Responsibilities include:
• Interaction with Lecturers and Professors regarding curriculum goals for undergraduate BSc students.
• Facilitate group assignments and collaborative projects by providing academic support to students.
• Coached students to write scientific reports and give presentations.
• Involved in assessment /scoring for projects and assignments
• Monitor student performance and provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence in students.
• Identify, develop, and implement intervention strategies, tutoring plans, or individualized education plans for students.
