Personal Description:
I have obtained an honours degree in music, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education to teach high school music and mathematics, a TEFL certificate which enables me to teach English as a foreign language and currently I am completing my final year of my Bachelor of Commerce degree at Wits. I have aquired many skills in my studies and I am therefore able to tutor high school accounting and teach english as a foreign language. I have taught students from as young as 3 years old to 60 years old. I am passionate about teaching and I go out of my way to make sure my students achieve their desired results. I was one of those students that struggled in school, however, I became a `late-bloomer´ at university. I find that this has enabled me to become an effective teacher as I am able to identify with my students difficulties and help them to overcome them the same way that I did.
Tutoring Experience:
I am a qualified high school teacher for mathematics and music and I have 7 years of teaching experience. I am SACE registered and I am used to working with the South African CAPS curriculum but I can adapt and work with any curriculum if required to do so.
Tutoring Approach:
I require my students to send me exercises they´re struggling with and to notify me if I need to reteach a section they don´t understand so I can prepare a specialised lesson for them. My fee includes notes which I formulate to suit the needs of each student and time outside of the lesson to mark and make corrections.
