Personal Description:

I am a Xhosa translator and tutor and speak 7 languages fluently. I use my experience in learning languages to benefit the student.

I am a medical professional with 20 years experience in communicating effectively with thousands of patients. I enjoy a challenge and if you feel that you have tried but failed to learn Xhosa, give me a try and you won't be disappointed.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught isiXhosa privately since 2003. I have taught adults from no knowledge of isiXhosa to idiomatic fluent isiXhosa. I have taught adults who want to converse and understand the fundamentals of Xhosa. I have helped home language high school pupils prepare for exams, understand grammar, novels, short stories, poetry and idioms. The results of my teaching have been confident students, fluent Xhosa speakers.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are structured in an easy to follow manner. I start teaching from pronunciation of the alphabet in Xhosa to complete fluency where Xhosa idioms become second nature in the student's vocabulary. The time frame depends on each students abilities, drive and motivation.

The goal of each lesson is to build confidence in speaking isiXhosa, help with genuine positive reinforcement, meaningful practical homework all taught with patience and care for the student.
