Personal Description:

I have am an ex-Advertising executive. I have decided to come back to my true passion which is teaching and helping students achieve their goals in specific subjects.

On a personal level, I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors - spending half the year in a small coastal town where I am able to enjoy my hobbies. I love swimming and paddle-boarding in the ocean, trail running, horse riding and playing tennis.
I also spend many weekends paging through fashion magazines, cooking and watching series.
Teaching is something very close to my heart; I find it incredibly rewarding helping others achieve their goals

Tutoring Experience:

I was a tutor in the afternoons from 2011 to 2016 to students at schools in Parktown, Westcliff, Houghton and Melrose.
I continuously tutored 6 students - helping them with everything from understanding a concept, to assisting them with projects as well as test preparation.
I had additional students during exam periods to assist with exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor, I specialize in assisting students in English, Afrikaans and Maths. I know what it is like to struggle with a subject or to want to do the best you possibly can in a subject, so I try to be as authentic as possible and allowing students to do the same. I always have time for my students and will do everything in my power to allow them to feel comfortable in my classes. I find it incredibly important for students to be able to tell me that they don't understand something, they don't enjoy something or that they are simply having a bad day.

My lessons are always personalised to each students' way of learning. I will ensure that I utilise different tools in my lessons that resonate best with each student. Some may find visuals more helpful, where others learn better with rhymes or hacks an easier way to remember how to apply a topic.
Each student is unique and therefore has a unique style of learning.
I am a firm believer in exercises, quizzes and going through past papers - practise makes perfect.
