Personal Description:

I'm a Qualified teacher with years of teaching experience both as a full time/part-time and teachers assistant.
A Mom of a Teenage daughter with a love for teaching children.
I'm a people person and I love helping children who battle with their Academics.
One on one tutoring is so rewarding as I can give all the extra TLC and assistance with homework too.
I'm a very hardworking, dedicated, organised, loyal and supportive teacher with a very professional outlook.

Tutoring Experience:

Worked as a High School teacher teaching IEB Geography from Garde 8-12 in a Private school in Johannesburg.
Was a Matric Sub-Examiner for two years for the Geography IEB Exams in 2000/2001.
Since 2015, I have been working as a Relief/Substitute teacher at a local Primary school in Somerset West.
2019 and 2020 I was working as a full time - teacher assistant at the same primary school for Grades 5, 6 & 7.
Was assisting Children in Maths, English Home language and English Additional language for these Grades.
Also helped new children to settle in the school and catch up the schoolwork, explaining all the work already missed and to get them integrated into their new school - a really tough transition for a child to move schools. I recently worked at a Home schooling centre on Somerset West for Grades 4-6 teaching all CAPS Aligned subjects using the Impaq home schooling curriculum

Tutoring Approach:

I Tutor online from my home in Heldervue, Somerset West with a picturesque view of the sea and lots of fresh air.
I'm a total Visual learner myself and use many Visual aids and additional supporting material to assist with my Teaching/Tutoring.
I love the one on one tutoring, but I am prepared to do small groups - not more than 4 children per group.
So the children can work with their friends as well, and then this too, is an integral part of Education - social interaction with other children and friends/peers - not just pure academics. Learning from each other too.
I'm a very organized person and always prepare work before the learners come to my lessons. They can also ask me for any additional help with their homework too and any explanations they require. I have access to the Internet at all times, and this too can be integrated into the lessons. I have access to Internet during load shedding and am able to teach/tutor online regardless of no Electricity. I'm there to help wherever I can and will always give my best to them.
