Personal Description:

For all my teaching experience I have taught second language students, both locally and abroad, making me to be aware of the language barriers and to build the conceptual understanding. I teach and tutor for understanding not necessarily for knowledge, giving the student the necessary skills to tackle problems as they come per concept. I always meet the student where they and build on what they already know to boost their confidence in the subject. I allow student to make mistakes and learn from them. I encourage correct mathematics vocabulary at all times, that is, usage of correct terminology, usage of correct signs, letters and so on, I emphasize on students labeling the diagrams correctly at all times as this helps the student to be as accurate as possible at all times. Lastly, I always relate and bring mathematics to life and why are studying that specific topic in mathematics to keep students engaged and to be interested in the subject. I always tell my student that it is not about the final answer, but the process of how you got to the answer.
