Information About Kathryn - Edenvale tutor

Personal Description:

I am passionate about teaching music to people of all ages. I particularly love sharing how exciting it is to understand music and how it can add value to your life. I live in Johannesburg and have a home music studio, where I teach from. I have a special interest in people with disabilities and I run a small music therapy practice.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching piano and guitar privately for approximately 28 years as well as pre-primary school children class music for 24 years. I taught some classical guitar at Jeppe Girls High School for 2 years.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach teaching music from an enjoyment perspective. I prefer not to put my students through exams as there are enough stressful elements in life. I focus particularly on what the person wants to learn from the instrument. I do stress practice and I set goals with the student.
