Personal Description:

I have many years experience in teaching mainstream subjects as well as learners with special needs in education. I am passionate about languages, not only as a subject but as the carrier of information. Most of my qualifications are in how to aquire a new language and how to use language as a tool in other subjects. I prefer to sit with my tutee, enjoy the lesson, improvise when needs be or even share some humour.

Tutoring Experience:

The first half of my teaching career has been in Foundation- and Intermediate phase where I spent roughly 20 years. In the last 18 years I have worked mainly in different sectors of special needs education teaching deaf learners to speak spoken language (Cochlear implants and hearing aids), variety of ASD classes ranging in age from 6 years old to 18 year old's. I taught Skills subjects like Home Economics, elementary woodwork (glue, hammer and nails), crafts and jewelry making.

Tutoring Approach:

Every single learner is different in the way they learn and store information. In working face-to-face I can pick up the mood and energy of the day and improvise accordingly. I use multiple styles in teaching, from written exercises, 2- and 3D activities, role play and will go to great lengths to provide interesting and effective resources to present in lessons.
