Personal Description:
I am a 45 year old mother of three children aged 13, 17 and 20. I work as an events planner and coordinator for a church and also do transcription work for film productions. I love to run, hike, read, watch Netflix and do ballet.
Tutoring Experience:
I homeschooled my own children from grade 1 - 7. I also lectured at university level in Information systems as well as statistics and have tutored students up to matric level maths.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to get to know my students and their level of understanding in mathematics. I explain as many times as is necessary and in different ways until the student is able to grasp the concept. Doing many examples is critical for grasping new concepts and I believe in students practicing until they feel comfortable. I am open and welcome input from the students on how they like to do things. I enjoy interacting with people and teaching is one of my favourite things to do. My time as teacher and lecturer were my favourite times.
