Personal Description:

I am a semi-retired businessman who enjoys interacting with young people and helping them improve their approach to learning and understanding of subjects they may be struggling with. A significant amount of my career experience involved training, mentoring and coaching colleagues. I am patient and empathetic when dealing with people across the board.
In addition to spending time with family and friends, my interests include reading (fact and fiction), current affairs, cultivating bonsais and listening to music.

Tutoring Experience:

I taught Sunday School at St. George's Anglican church in Johannesburg for four years. I have also helped school-going children (including my own and step-children) of many friends with various subjects and projects over the years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a good listener which is important as it allows me to establish a good relationship with the person I am trying to help. I understand that we have different approaches to learning. This means that I do not employ a 'one size fits all' approach to tutoring. I have found that a sense of humor, combined with a gentle firmness is generally effective.
