Personal Description:

I am currently working as a Data Scientist, while studying towards my Masters at UCT, having graduated with distinction from the University of Pretoria with my Industrial Engineering degree, where I finished at the top of my class. I matriculated from Maritzburg College with 8 distinctions, along with taking AP Maths throughout highschool. I am a level-headed, fun-loving and mature person, and I am very good with children. I enjoy seeing the best in people and watching them succeed in what they are attempting. I love helping people with their education, which I personally think is vital for your future, as I believe it is beneficial for both of us. I have been tutoring for the better part of 6 years now, having seen all my students improve their marks and gain in confidence.

Tutoring Experience:

I was a peer tutor throughout my school career, tutoring students younger than me and in my own grade, and sometimes even a few people older than me, on numerous topics, all of whom improved on their marks. I was readily involved with tutoring at university, even being offered an assistant lecturer position; so I have a vast range of experience. My mother is a primary school teacher and I have often helped and been very involved in her class.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that every student is different and that certain studying methods do not work for some people. I have a vast knowledge of different study techniques due to my personal experiences and attending numerous seminars on the topic. I will firstly help find the correct method for you and then use that to improve your marks in a very relaxed environment in your own time, without added stress or pressure. I also believe in developing a good working relationship with the tutee as that sets the tone and allows for easier learning as it is a lot easier to learn from someone whom you have a good relationship with.
