Personal Description:

Hi my name is Craig and I a currently studying at th University of Stellenbosch. I am doing a degree in Chemistry and Textile Science, and my major subjects are chemistry and maths having also done first year level physics. After I obtain my BSc degree I am planning to do a PGCE (post graduate certificate in education).

I enjoy helping others out as it brings a great deal of personal satisfaction to see my own methods of teaching bringing good results.

Tutoring Experience:

I have one experience which is a good one and this experience also helped me realise my passion for teaching and education. I helped out a family member who struggled with mathematics in high school. after much patience her from 55% in mathematics in grade 11 to a 76% at the end of he matric finals. It took a lot of hard work for me but I enjoyed and was good to see my hard work pay off.

Tutoring Approach:

I do believe I have a unique way of teaching and form good relationships with those help. My approach to tutorng incudes:

1) fully understanding the students needs and finding out the weaknesses of the student and strengthening them
2) patience with student
3) encourage students to participate and figure problems out themselves and guiding them
4) I find it also very important to not intimidate those I help as I want them to feel free to ask for help
5) I plan out a lesson and let the student know what we should accomplish
6) Incentives are also good, rewarding the student gives them motivation
