Information About Aphiwe - Bellville tutor

Personal Description:

Hi there! My name is Aphiwe, I am currently a CA(SA) trainee completing my articles in my pursuit of becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant. I love tutoring Accounting, History, Maths and isiXhosa. I received distincitions for these subjects all my life and I am passionate about them. My hobbies are playing sports such as squash (I captained my high school team to becoming 2nd in the country, how cool!?) and I'm a quite a bubbly person but I make sure that the work we need to get done is attempted to the best of our ability. I strive for success.

Tutoring Experience:

I started tutoring my peers in grade 11, I started with Accounting. My best student went from completely failing Accounting in grade to passing with 72%
In my grade 12 year I tutored grade 8-10 Mathematics
In my first year of university, I tutored a student who never did Accounting in high school, she has now graduated her BBusSc(Finance with Accounting) at UCT, she never failed an Accounting course.
In my honours year, I tutored isiXhosa to a grade 8 student who was struggling, he benefited a lot from our sessions and passed the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is making sure one understands the fundamentals first because those are the building blocks. I will go over the content of the course and only after I am satisfied with the student's understanding will we tackle question papers. We will gradually work on more difficult questions with the student and I will also set papers for them based off a mixture of past papers in their curriculum.
