Personal Description:

I currently hold an LLM in Commercial law. I am a hardworking, passionate and compassionate person who dreams of making a difference in education and environmental law. In my free time I love to read and listen to music.

I'm very patient and will explain a concept as many times as necessary. I also utilise various manners of teaching methods, which help students be able to master concepts in a way that is unique to their understanding. I will also always listen, no matter how big or small the problem might seem and I am always the first person to offer my support in times of frustration and trouble.

Tutoring Experience:

I was a Residence Academic Advisor at the university of Johannesburg in 2019. I would assist students with adjusting from high school to tertiary education both academically and socially.
I am currently a tutor at Varsity Unlimited Tutors.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students’ homework for them!

I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs
