Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Agna and have just completed my Cambridge AS levels in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I'm passionate about mathematics and the sciences and find fulfillment in helping other students reach their academic goals. Although I'm most familiar with the Cambridge curriculum, the subjects' in which I offer help with, content isn't majorly affected by a curriculum(1+1 will always be 2) and therefore I'll be able to assist students who follow the CAPS/IEB curriculum as well.

Hi daar, ek is Agna en het sopas my Cambridge AS levels in Engels, Afrikaans, Wiskunde, Fisika en Chemie voltooi. Ek is passievol oor veral wiskunde en die wetenskap vakke en vind vervulling daarin om skoliere te help om hul akademiese mikpunte te bereik. Alhoewel ek hoofsaaklik met die Cambridge kurrikulumm te make gehad het, is die aard van die vakke wat ek aanbied so, dat die kurrikulum nie n groot rol speel nie(1+1 bly altyd 2) en dus sal ek studente wat die CAPS/IEB kurrikulum volg ook kan behulpsaam wees.

Tutoring Experience:

I am not an experienced tutor but have helped several students in the past by explaining topics which they found challenging or showed them how to approach certain questions or mathematical problems.

Tutoring Approach:

I have 2 methods when in comes to my tutoring approach(we'll follow the one which the tutee prefers):
The first method involves that I go through the work with/explain it to the tutee before it is discussed in class at school, so that students are prepared for their classes and are able to do the worksheets they are given.

When following the second method, students identify topics which they find challenging after which I'll then make sure they are familiar with the basics of the topic. Following that, I normally re-explain what is expected and point out key ideas or tips that I use to remember important concepts. We'll then go through sample questions together and discuss them where necessary.

Lastly, I think it's of utter importance that students do practice exercises after a topic is discussed to ensure that they can apply the knowledge that they've gained. In addition when marking their work, I'll be able to see whether they fully understand the topic.
