Information About Shirley - Albany tutor

Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Shirley and I am originally from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and I have a mnulti-cultural background. My native language is English as I was born into an English speaking family. I have a large family, a husband, four children, two homestays and two cats… life is busy but fun. I love teaching all age groups as I am also an Early Childhood teacher but lately I have been focusing on adults I love life and my hobbies are reading, creative writibg, music, tramping, fishing , boating, and badminton.

Tutoring Experience:

I have teaching expereince in Early Childhood and ESOL. I am a Massey University graduate with a Bachelor of Education. I did a TESOL course last year at a Language school in Auckland and I sat the TKT Cambridge exam. Upon graduation from TESOL, I was offered a short term teaching position at the Language school.I took a General English class… I really enjoyed teaching and interacting with my students from various cultures.Together we made learning fun.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in making learning fun… in this way students are going to remember the lesson better. I am speaking from the experience I had lately where my ex-students sought me out and wanted to share their stories with me.They made me feel very special because I had touched their lives.
