Personal Description:

I am a NZ trained secondary school teacher and involved in teaching Science and Chemistry at Auckland secondary schools. I have now moved to Canberra, Australia, however, I am still offering online tuitions to my students. I have very good knowledge of NZ Curriculum in Maths and Science and can make a huge difference to student learning. If you are sitting NCEA this year and are anxious about your grades, I might be able to help.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked at One Tree Hill College, Epsom Girls Grammar, St. Dominic's College to name a few and have been tutoring students from One Tree Hill College, Mt. Roskill Grammar and Epsom Girls Grammar School. My main teaching subjects are Science, Chemistry and Mathematics. Tutoring Approach:

I believe in scientific inquiry learning as it enables students to develop a positive self-concept as learners and gain confidence in and enjoyment from their learning. Through active participation in challenging and engaging experiences they become selfmotivated, independent learners. Their understanding of science and its social and cultural
contexts provides a basis for students to make reasoned evidence-based future choices and ethical decisions, and to engage in finding innovative solutions to science-related personal, social and global issues, including sustainable futures.

From Cheryl (5/5): My granddaughter was really struggling with Maths so she started seeing Richa twice a week for tutoring. What a change in both my granddaughter's attitude towards the subject, and to her understanding after working with Richa. So much so, that her marks improved by 40 percent in her last maths test. From my perspective, Richa is an extremely patient teacher with an outstanding ability to really connect and create an environment where a struggling student gains confidence and a belief that with extra work and a focus on the basic facts of Maths, she can really begin to move forward and not see herself as a "failure" in the subject.

My niece finds her very friendly and approachable - thus, she feels relaxed and confident in asking Richa questions. I am very happy with the help Richa is providing to my niece and I will be continuing the classes long-term.
