Information About Pat - Howick tutor - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Pat:
Originally from the UK, I have been in New Zealand since 2005. My first teaching post here was in an intermediate school and I currently teach in a multi-cultural primary school in Auckland.
Interests outside teaching include photography, art, walking, theatre, entertaining, travel and generally socialising with friends.
I am currently studying Te Reo Maori at NZCA Level 2 and will graduate in November.
I work in the Mount Wellington/Ellerslie area and am happy to tutor in those areas as well as those close to my home address.
I trained in the UK and have been teaching since 1979. I have worked in a range of schools, in both urban and rural areas, and I have taught across the full primary age range. I took on roles of responsibility early in my career and I worked in senior management for a number of years in the UK. These included the roles of Deputy Head teacher, and Acting Head teacher for a period of time.
My approach to tutoring is very much geared to the needs of the student at the time, and their individual requirements. I would not take on a tutoring role if I didn't think I could offer the kind of teaching the student needed. I have access to a range of materials and experience, and I keep abreast of current educational initiatives and resources. I access many on-line educational sites both here in New Zealand, and globally, and I make use of interactive resources where appropriate.
