Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Michael. I have spent the past six years as a lecturer in Mathematics, first at the University of Auckland and then at AUT. In addition to this I previously spent five years as a tutor within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Auckland while completing my Doctorate in Mathematics.

Recently I have moved away from Auckland, and am now available for online tutoring!

Tutoring Experience:

I have lectured a wide range of courses at the University of Auckland and AUT, including MATHS 108, MATHS 208, and many others. Given my teaching experience and broad mathematical knowledge, I am confident tutoring most undergraduate mathematics courses (and some postgraduate ones).

I have worked with a huge range of students during my career as a lecturer, with a range of abilities. Whether your goal is to pass, or to achieve an A+, I can help to get you there.

Tutoring Approach:

Feedback from students in courses I lecture consistently mentions my ability to explain concepts clearly, and in a way students can understand. In addition to this, my feedback says I am very personable and friendly, and very patient.

My goal is always to get you to a point where you know what you need to know to get the most out of the course. Often there are a few key points to topics that aren't always obvious at first. In my experience having someone go through these with you one on one can make all the difference. I know what lecturers expect of students, I wrote many of the previous years exams you will probably be soon studying!
