Personal Description:
My name is Leona. I live in Ashburton, New Zealand. I have three grown children and two grandsons. I love art, craft, photography, walks, nature and travel.
Tutoring Experience:
I have ten years teaching experience in the classroom. For 5 years of the time teaching I have been head of literacy or maths. I am a trained reading recovery teacher. I designed an accelerated literacy programme that was so successful it was adopted by several other teachers within the school.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe in a holistic approach to teaching where the child is inspired to inquire and discover more through focusing on their interests. I believe in the possibilities of every student to be the very best they can be.
