Personal Description:
I am Krishanu , completed PhD from University of Auckland, New Zealand in the department of Civil Engineering .I did my masters in Earthquake Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) in the year 2014 and B-Tech from West Bengal University of Technology in 2012.During the 2 years of my masters i took part time Lecture in an university(Graphic Era Hill University)After completion of my masters i worked in an Italian Geotechnical **Contact Detail Removed** named Geodata Engineering S.P.A for 6 months as a Geotechnical Tunnel Engineer and then joined Asansol Engineering College as an Assistant Professor to work for 1 year before joining University of Auckland for PhD. Currently i am helping 8 NCEA level 3 students with maths and chemistry and 7 secondary students with maths and physics. I am currently working as a Lecturer in the department of civil and environmental engineering of The University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Tutoring Experience:
In total I have 10 years of teaching experience including 6 years of teaching in Engineering Universities.
Tutoring Approach:
I love to share my knowledge and I have sound knowledge in science subjects with excellent teaching skills.In teaching Mathematics,physics, chemistry, I relate the concepts to everyday living. I explain the concepts in a very simple method and show how problems can be solved in very easy ways.With my experience of teaching in Secondary schools and Universities, I can easily identify the student's weaknesses in understanding of mathematical concepts and know how to help them to overcome it. I give sample problems for students to practice during lessons to ensure they understand the concepts well and to apply them in problem-solving exercises set as homework. I mark them later, identify mistakes and give feedback to various approaches for them to choose the simplest and the easiest one. In this way students tend to gain more self-confidence in problem-solving and attempt to excel in the subject .They begin to see science as a challenge and enjoy the subject. Learning science becomes a fun. I have had students who were very weak in Mathematics, physics and chemistry but after tuition, they were surprised to have passed these subjects with good grades
