Information About Isabel - Wellington tutor

Personal Description:

Kia Ora, I'm Isabel
I am a first-year uni student at Victoria University who is studying a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music.
I have a passion for music and movies, spending my time writing music and writing film reviews. My friends describe me as a sweet, bubbly person, who is very determined when I have a goal I want to achieve.
In high school, I took English a year early. For example, I took Year 13 English in Year 12. I achieved NCEA level 1 with Excellence and then NCEA level 2 and 3 with merit. I play piano, guitar, and flute. I also love to sing. I've played hockey for several years, where I also would coach and umpire games.

Tutoring Experience:

I've worked a lot with you, kids and students with their work. I have 2 younger sister whom I would help with their homework. But probably most of my teaching experience is more of an outdoor setting rather than with academics. I taught kids from the ages of 10 - 14 how to abseil down a cliff, as well as I coached a hockey team of players who had never touched a hockey stick before to the point where they were winning a few games. I have taught a few people how to read sheet music and play the piano, as I was a leader for the school choir and music leader in general.

Tutoring Approach:

I would love to help those who need that extra little push to help them get on track with their academics, as it is important to have those foundations. I was put into tutoring when I was behind in maths, and it did make me realise how important these people are to be able to help with your learning. I also find that having patience is an important skill to have a s a tutor, and as told by the parents of the team I coached, I had a lot of patience and persistent to be able to help their children develop in hockey.
