Personal Description:
Hey! I’m Harry—a math tutor who actually gets what it’s like to be on both sides of the classroom.
I’m currently studying Mathematics and Actuarial Science at Victoria University, where I’ve earned straight A’s and a spot on the Dean’s List. I’ve also had the privilege of being endorsed by Professor Lisa Orloff Clark, the Head of the School of Mathematics, for my academic performance and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
But honestly, what matters more than grades is that I know how to connect. I’ve helped students who felt totally lost grow into confident problem-solvers. Whether you're aiming to pass, get ahead, or finally make sense of the material, I’ll meet you where you’re at and work with you in a way that actually makes sense.
Math doesn’t have to be intimidating—it just needs to be taught in the right way. If you're looking for a tutor who’s not just strong in math but genuinely passionate about helping you succeed, let’s work together.
Tutoring Experience:
I’ve worked with both primary and high school students at a range of levels—from building foundational skills and confidence in younger learners to helping older students aim for Merit and Excellence in NCEA. I focus on developing real understanding rather than just rote learning, and I tailor each session to the student’s pace and learning style. My calm and clear approach has helped students improve their grades, enjoy math more, and feel genuinely capable in class.
Tutoring Approach:
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring. Every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand where they’re at, how they think, and what’s holding them back. My goal is always to make things click—to move past surface-level memorisation and into real understanding. I break down tricky concepts in simple, relatable ways and build up from there, step by step. I stay patient, positive, and focused on progress. Whether a student needs a confidence boost, exam prep, or a full reset with math, I tailor each session to support them.
