Personal Description:

I am a computer engineer with a master degree and more than 15-years experience in programming. I have been developing object-oriented desktop and web applications for institutions which needs high-performance, foolproof, secure and flexible software solutions such as banks and public institutions. And I have been tutoring on Programming for the last 11 years.

I am skilled in programming in C# (both ASP.Net Web Forms and Windows Forms), Delphi as well as T-SQL, and database design in MS SQL Server. I possess functional knowledge of MySQL, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML and essential knowledge of Java and JSP. Due to my master’s study in Computer Engineering, I have also both academic and practical knowledge about Semantic Web and Ontology design.

I have been authoring **Web Address Removed**, which concerns three above-mentioned subject areas that has been shaping my career from the beginning: Programming, Semantic Web and Philosophy of Mind.

Tutoring Experience:

Since 2008, I have been giving private lessons to university students and IT professionals on the following subjects:

-Windows, MS Word and MS Excel

-Programming:
• .NET: C# Language Essentials, Web programming with ASP .NET Framework and Core, Web Forms & MVC, Web Services, Windows forms applications with ASP .Net
• Java: Java Language Essentials, Web programming with JSP
• Pascal and Delphi

-Database:
• TSQL
• SQL Server

-Front End Development:
• HTML
• JavaScript
• JQuery
• React
• CSS

Semantic Web:
• OWL (Web Ontology Language)
• SWRL
• SQWRL

In addition to providing students with theoretical and practical knowledge about the subject, I have sometimes helped the university students to complete their midterm and final projects and even their master theses. Such studies include a master thesis project involving a Generic Manufacturing Process Ontology designed and coded with OWL, SWRL, and SQWRL by me, some algorithms for calculating determinants of matrixes in C#, Library Management System with Java (JSP), Password Entry with a changing-number pad coded with JQuery, etc.

I have used the following IDEs or programmes/platforms in my classes:
Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse, NetBeans, MS SQL Server, Protége

Tutoring Approach:

A VERY SYSTEMATIC AND EFFICIENT APPROACH
7 PRINCIPLES
I have 7 principles in tutoring:
1. Show and make learners code the concepts you teach: For instance, if I teach how to make AJAX calls with JQuery, after showing some basic examples, I demand students to code such JQuery code in her/his computer.
2. Always provide the learner with some material: For every lesson, I give the presentation file and sample codes of the subject so that she/he can look at the topics later on.
3. Always give homework: Learners should practice what they learn after the classes.
4. Help the learner as much as possible between the classes: I mostly answer e-mails or calls of students about the learned concepts.
5. Teach in a friendly context: We are human beings not robots! Teaching and learning should not be boring and too formal.
6. Test the learner with regular quizzes: In this way, I can make sure that the learner is learning every subject without any exception.
7. If possible, after covering all the subjects, develop a useful project that involve all the learned concepts with the learner.
CONTENT OF CLASSES
I follow a very systematic approach according to which:
• Each session will basically include the followings:
o For each session there will be a project
o These projects will contain classes or units each of which explains a topic with comments and sample code
o Sometimes I will also use some figures and external notes.
o For each topic, there will be a highlight which is one of the most important aspects of that topic. And there will also be an in-class task for the student to practice what she/he has learned.
o For each session I will assign a homework

• Before starting the classes, I will send a GitHub repository link that include session-based subdirectories which contain all the class notes in and all the code files (projects, presentations, etc.) of the session.
• The duration of the sessions are up to the student.
• You will be assigned a homework after each class. I will check your homework before the next session. I will review your homework in the first 5-10 minutes of each session.
• There will be 5-7 minutes breaks in every 55-60 minutes.
• I prefer to be paid after each class. However we can talk about another payment option.
• In the case of online teaching, we can use SkyPe, TeamViewer or any other video-conference/presentation program that you prefer. I will share my screen in the classes so that you can see everything on my desktop. We can also share some files with these programs.
