Personal Description:

Kia ora

I'm a Wellington local, born and raised in the suburb of Northland. I attended Wellington College, finishing in 2016, when I then shifted to Christchurch where I obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from Canterbury University. I've since returned to Wellington, working as a young professional and balancing my time between family commitments, a busy social life and training schedule.

Tutoring Experience:

For three of my four years at Canterbury University, I tutored local high school students in mathematics and science, during holiday programmes organised by the university. I also tutored a first year mathematics paper and a second year fluid dynamics paper, during my last two years of study.

Since graduating, I've tutored a range of students both at secondary and tertiary levels, with a focus on physics and mathematics. To date, I've supported around 10 students, each with varying degrees of experience and confidence.

Tutoring Approach:

Studying, regardless of what level you're at, can be genuinely fun.

The reality is often, many students struggle with learning because it feels overwhelming, leading to frustration, demotivation and a gradual decline in confidence.

When I grapple with challenging concepts, I find that talking to someone face-to-face, who has a stronger understanding, can make such a difference. Someone who is patient, concise and down to earth. That's what's worked best for me and so, that's my approach too.
