Personal Description:

Kia ora! I am a second-year law student at the University of Canterbury. I graduated high school with Excellence Endorsed in NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3, and NCEA scholarships in English, History, Classical Studies, and Health. Having recently excelled in NCEA, I understand the curriculum requirements and techniques to do well in a range of subjects and standards. I am a driven and confident tutor, and I love helping students gain confidence in their academic abilities.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience privately tutoring primary school students in English, and I am a high school debate tutor and adjudicator, so I am confident tutoring a variety of subjects and ability levels. I have the academic know-how to help able students reach their full potential in examinations, and the skills to support struggling learners to build their confidence at school.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm passionate about learning, and I believe tutoring shouldn't just be about explaining content, but should build a student's broader confidence and critical thinking in the subject. My goal is to adapt to student's learning preferences and create an environment where they feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes. Whether our lessons are working on building general academic skills, or on particular assessment standards and projects, I work to foster students' passion for learning.
