Information About Arnav - Wellington tutor

Personal Description:

I am a Year 12 student at Wellington College, currently studying towards Level 2 NCEA (Accelerated Mathematics) and Level 3 NCEA English. I am highly motivated, with a strong academic record, and I am working towards achieving Excellence endorsements.

I am also a peer tutor at my school, where I have been tutoring younger students in Maths and English for the past two years. This has given me valuable experience in helping students of different ages and learning styles.

Alongside my studies, I balance two part-time jobs, where I have developed excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills. I regularly represent my school at public speaking events and leadership occasions.

Outside of school, I enjoy helping my younger brother with his learning, which has taught me first-hand how every child learns differently. I am passionate about supporting younger learners in Maths and English, and I aim to make my tutoring sessions engaging, confidence-boosting, and effective.

Tutoring Experience:

I have two years of experience as a peer tutor at Wellington College, working with younger students in both Maths and English. Through this role, I have gained strong skills in adapting lessons to suit different ages and learning styles.

Additionally, I regularly teach my younger brother, which has strengthened my ability to make learning enjoyable and accessible for younger children. I also support my peers in Accelerated Maths and English, helping them to understand complex concepts.

My part-time work in customer-facing roles has further developed my communication, leadership, and adaptability, all of which I bring into my tutoring sessions to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student learns in their own unique way, and my approach is to adapt to each learner’s needs. I focus on building both skills and confidence, ensuring that students feel comfortable and supported.

Having worked with younger children as a peer tutor and through teaching my younger brother, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and clear explanations. My aim is to make lessons interactive and enjoyable, using a variety of tools and methods to suit the student. Whether we are working on building core Maths skills or improving reading and writing in English, my goal is always to help the student progress and feel proud of their achievements.
