Information About Anika - Nelson tutor

Personal Description:

I have a passion for teaching (specifically mathematics) and supporting students to excel. I am a registered teacher at a Junior High School. I love the outdoors and also enjoy watching or participating in any sporting activities.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching mathematics and accounting/economics for more than 10 years. I've taught years 5 to 10 (curriculum levels 2 to early 6). I have also been very fortunate to work as an MST (mathematics support teacher), with some great results, to assist learners to accelerate in their mathematics. I am currently busy with my Masters degree in Mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe to not only teach mathematics but also cultivate a love for the subject through understanding and making it sense of it. I have also experienced that students learn best from people that they trust and can relate to, without just telling them what to do, to support them to understand the process of mathematics. Students should also be supported to believe in their own capabilities while accelerating their learning.
