Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Shauna, and I am a 27-year-old fully qualified History and Politics, as well as English, secondary school teacher.

I hold an undergraduate degree in History and Politics from University College Dublin (UCD), and I furthered my studies by acquiring English credits through Dublin City University (DCU). I completed my Professional Master in Education at Hibernia College, where I developed a strong foundation in pedagogy and classroom management.

In addition to my teaching experience, I am currently pursuing a Higher Diploma in Mathematics through University of Limerick, with the aim of qualifying as a mathematics teacher. This demonstrates my dedication to expanding my expertise and providing a more comprehensive range of subjects to my students.

I am passionate about supporting students in their learning journeys, whether in the classroom or through one-on-one tutoring. My diverse qualifications and experience allow me to adapt my teaching style to the unique needs of each student, and I look forward to working with you to help achieve your academic goals.

Tutoring Experience:

I currently work as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher, where I focus on providing tailored educational support to students with varying learning needs.

Before my current role, I worked as a home school teacher, where I taught Mathematics and English to Junior Certificate students, helping them to achieve their academic goals. I have been offering tutoring services since 2019, working with students across a variety of subjects, and I take great pride in seeing them reach their full potential.

Approach to Grinds:

As an experienced and passionate educator, my approach to grinds is centred around creating a supportive, engaging, and student-focused learning environment. I believe that every student is unique and requires a tailored approach to maximise their potential. My goal is not only to help students achieve their academic goals but also to build their confidence and foster a genuine interest in the subjects we work on together.

I take the time to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses, and individual learning style. This allows me to adapt my teaching methods to suit their needs. Whether the student requires help with specific topics, exam preparation, or a deeper understanding of the subject matter, I provide structured, clear, and targeted support. I encourage active learning, ensuring that students not only understand the content but also develop critical thinking skills that they can apply beyond the grind sessions.

For me, building a positive and collaborative working relationship with each student is essential. I strive to create a calm and supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring areas where they may be struggling. I also set achievable goals and monitor progress regularly to ensure that students stay on track and feel motivated throughout their learning journey.

In addition to the academic side of grinds, I aim to make lessons enjoyable and engaging, helping students to develop a genuine interest in the subject. I believe that fostering a love for learning is key to long-term success and academic achievement.

Above all, my approach to grinds is about providing personalised, focused tuition that helps each student build confidence, gain mastery over the material, and succeed in their academic endeavours.
