Personal Description:
I am Business and Law undergraduate from TUD. My main subject areas are French, Law and maths. I received an H1 in my leaving certificate french and have since further developed my language speaking and teaching abilities.
I enjoy tutoring as I become very engorged in the academic development of each of my students. I believe my enthusiasm is very prominent in my method of teaching. this has been commented on by most of my work colleagues. I even got featured in a local newspaper during my Language internship in France, this summer.
I have acquired 2 years' worth of in-person tutoring before the Covid-19 pandemic. I acquired further professional teaching experience abroad, this year. I have worked with third-level and junior cycle students. In addition, French is one of the four languages that I have achieved high proficiency in.
I am relatively new to this platform. However, I am confident in my teaching ability, given my aptitude for languages and free tutoring platform I helped creating in March 2022 to raise funds for a humanitarian project @Tosogrinds
French teaching:
I offer leaving certificate french grinds and crash courses with examination topic predictions for the production écrite section of the exam. Also offer tips on oral and aural. For further reference, be sure to check out my free leaving certificate french course on a separate platform « lessonwise ». This is free in honour of a charitable initiative I have been working on over the last few months.
Business and Law teaching :
In addition, I have acquired firsts in all of my law modules. I also acquired a H1 in leaving certificate Business Studies. As previously mentioned, I am also a Business and Law Student about to graduate. I offer grinds in specific modules like Evidence Law, jurisprudence, property law and Equity Law. Notes I provide also aid in preparation for Fe1 examinations within respective modules. I am currently studying to sit my Bar examinations, so I am very familiar with post-third level examination formats.
I also offer practical advice based on different learning styles on how to easily recall cases. Just bare in mind that it is your skill to critically assess and analyse legal issues that is being tested in these examinations. Hence, focus will be on how to properly approach such questions from an examiner’s perspective.
Tutoring Experience:
In addition, over the summer months of 2021, I went on a Language teaching internship in France. I taught French and English to students ranging from ages 9-15 years. This is when I discovered my passion for teaching. I have now been teaching french for a total of 5 years as I aided students in my University’s French Society.
I am an excellent communicator and possess great listening skills. Given my experience with teaching kids, I am a very patient and understanding person. I believe that my ability to tend towards the needs of students with varying language levels makes me an exceptional tutor.
Approach to Grinds:
The first class will be spent understanding the student's weaknesses and curating a teaching strategy that tends towards the needs of each student. Junior certificate exam papers will be used along with 360 total immersion. English will be used sparingly. Students will be able to associate vocabulary and verbs with images in order to create quicker memory processing instead of solely memorizing. I believe that once a student develops a love for the language learning process, it begins to feel like less of a chore. this boosts cognitive development particularly associated with language learning. I believe that learning languages should feel like fun!
