Personal Description:

I am a third year Mathematical Sciences student at UCC (currently on track for a 1:1). I received A2 in Leaving Certificate Higher Level Maths. In secondary school, I competed in the final of the Irish EU Science Olympiad. I have a deep love for solving problems and explaining concepts to others. I am offering grinds in Leaving and Junior Certificate Maths. Please contact if interested!

Tutoring Experience:

I worked as part of free Project SUMS maths grinds program for Junior and Leaving Certificate students.
I communicated key ideas of past papers with students 1-1 and in groups of up to 6.
I used examples to engage students in the material.

Approach to Grinds:

I always ensure the student is relaxed and comfortable before teaching. I figure out which areas of the subject the student is struggling with - areas which need extra attention. I then give an overview of the topic and note the most important points and equations. When the student is comfortable with the foundations, we then proceed to practice past exam papers and relevant examples from the textbook.
I then assign a few questions for the student to practice at home and we go through the answers in the next meeting. If the student has any questions, they can always reach out to me in between grinds. I always try my best to help the student reach their full potential.
