Personal Description:
I have taught a variety of students, one-to-one, over the last few years with lessons specifically designed around the Junior and Leaving Cert syllabus. I have an approachable and relaxed teaching style and I try to make my lessons dynamic and fun. No boring grammar lessons!
My students include sixth year students who study Italian in secondary school, and native Italian speakers who want to familiarise themselves with exam structure and practice for the exam. I am also preparing fifth year students, going through the entire syllabus with them. I have first, second, and third year students that are studying both Italian and Spanish. with lessons catered towards improving grades in the JC.
2018 graduate of International Languages (Italian/Spanish) in UCD. Friendly and approachable tutor who has lived and studied in Italy and Spain. Extremely familiar with the Leaving Cert cycle (Italian) in which I got an A1 in 2014.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught Italian and Spanish to adults, teenagers, and young learners. I have been teaching full-time online since 2021. I have taught English in private language schools and institutions across Spain and Italy since 2018.
As of 2021, I have dedicated myself primarily to online language lessons (Italian/Spanish). I am currently working with students in all secondary school years, and am working with a variety of students of different ages and levels.
Approach to Grinds:
Flexible approach. Ultimately your goal is what counts, so I'm willing to work with you and adapt myself in order to help you to achieve what it is that you're looking for, be it general Italian/Spanish, preparation for the LC or JC, or university Italian/Spanish
As for cancellations, I try to be flexible and if I can move the class, I will.
Full payment expected if the student doesn't turn up or the class is cancelled less than 3 hours before scheduled time.

From Lucy (/5): (University Italian) Patrick was great to work with he helped me prepare for my second year Italian final exam. We mainly focused on grammar and his explanations on harder grammatical rules truly helped me understand concepts I didn't grasp in my semester. He is very thorough in his explanations, the work he provides really help with memorization, and he is very flexible and understanding with scheduling sessions. It was great that he went to UCD because he was familiar with the examinations so if you are struggling with Italian at UCD I would highly recommend working with Patrick!

The fact that she is always ready in time for lessons and never complains about them says it all! She enjoys every minute and as a result is learning loads. She is learning both Italian and Spanish with Patrick and says she learns a lot more from one private lesson per week than she does in a week’s worth of lessons at school! It’s our first experience with online tutoring and it has worked out brilliantly, thanks to the quality of teaching and the flexible nature of delivery. I highly recommend Patrick and if he taught other languages we’d probably sign up for those too
From Wayne (/5): (Adult / Casual Spanish) I had a single session with Patrick. I needed to get my wedding vows translated to Spanish and help with pronunciation. Patrick was very friendly and helpful, he made sure that he understood what I was trying to say so that he could accurately translate to something that made sense in Spanish. He then followed up with a recording himself reciting the passage. This was extremely useful for me practicing. I would highly recommend Patrick!

Patrick e' stato in grado in un solo mese di dare una base e una struttura linguistica ai bambini e a me per poter continuare da sola l'insegnamento.
Patrick e' affidabile, puntuale e flessibile negli appuntamenti e nell'avere due bambini superattivi scavacargli sulle gambe e spalle!
Posso con tutta sicurezza e onesta' raccomandare Patrick per insegnare italiano e inglese a chiunque.
