Information About Patrick - Bray tutor

Personal Description:

I'm 24 years old. I live in Bray, Co. Wicklow. I recently completed my undergrad in UCD. In my leaving certificate I achieved an A1 in Irish. I continued to take modules in Irish as electives during my time in university. I also began giving grinds in Irish and German during my time in UCD to secondary school students.

I'm certainly working in publishing. In my spare time I host an Irish Language radio show. I'm passionate about the language and I'm sure I can impart some of my enthusiasm and knowledge of the language.

Tutoring Experience:

I gave grinds to secondary school students while studying for my BA. I have also helped university students prepare for their oral exams and PME applicants for their TEG qualification. Previously, I have also volunteered in an after school club and have work experience in an Irish language primary school.

Approach to Grinds:

Due to Covid 19 all of my sessions will be given via Zoom/Google Meet.

My teaching method is focused on boosting the student's oral fluency and their grasp of grammar. It is important for me to assess a student's language fluency before getting to work in our sessions. I try to tailor each session to the individual student. I will give the student personalised notes in each session and homework in between sessions focusing on areas where they're not as strong. I try to make my sessions as enjoyable and interactive as I can for my students while also teaching in an effective manner.
