Personal Description:
I qualified with a Masters in Accountancy and Finance from Edinburgh University. After which I completed the Professional Master of Education (PME) course from Trinity College Dublin.
I have been appointed on a continual basis the role of Superintendent for both the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate, on behalf of the Department of Education. I also have experience of correcting these examinations in both Business and Accounting.
Further, as awarded by the Department of Education I completed The Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELT).
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 15 years experience teaching Accounting, Business at Leaving Certifica**Contact Detail Removed**vel, and also the new Business Studies program, which was introduced in 2016. I am currently teaching in Rathdown School.
My experience to date has been wide ranging in different schools, which have strongly contributed to my understanding of valuing all students’ backgrounds, and their potential contributions to the classroom environment and their future life.
Approach to Grinds:
I believe each student learns in different ways, so the key to being an effective teacher in my opinion, is to be adaptable and flexible.
I provide:
One to One lessons, as well as group lessons.
Pre-exam preparation.
Weekly tests and additional homework questions (corrected, as per Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate marking scheme structure).
Grinds through the medium of Zoom.
Grinds range from 1 hour to 2 hours.

The fact that he is a licensed Leaving Cert accounting teacher is a great asset as all of the information he gives is very exam focused which I loved. Nick has been working with her over the past while and what my daughters says is ' he makes it all so much easier to understand'. She went from a fail at the end of last summer to a high C this Christmas. He is also helping her create study notes which helps her remember the key elements of each of the areas in particular economics & business studies which helps Emily remember. I would recommend Nick as a Business Studies tutor

Feedback from my daughter is that she understands the curriculum better due to Nick's great way of explaining the course material. She's also ahead of her classmates due to the one on one teaching. The only reason why I haven't given Nick a 5 'Excellent' rating is that I'm waiting to see what my daughter's exam results are.

He was very thorough and explained things in terms that Conor could deal with. He found Nick's assisatnce invaluable and feels that the extra lessons made all the difference between facing an exam paper that looked like Greek in the summer exams to being very confident with his Christmas exams. Our son has responded very well to Nick's approach and now even admits to enjoying the lessons. They are not quite the highlight of his week, but he is enjoying them and they are certainly not the chore we were expecting and Nick must be congratulated on that.
