Personal Description:
I'm a 4th year mechanical engineering student studying at University College Dublin. I've been giving grinds in mathematics and physics for 4 years now and have achieved 580 points in my leaving certificate with A's across all mathematical and physics-based subjects. I have received awards for my excellence in mathematics including having tied 2nd for the national Team Maths Competition.
Tutoring Experience:
I've been teaching Maths and Physics for 4 years now to students from junior and leaving certificate for both higher and ordinary level. I've helped 30+ students achieve the results they want in their respective examinations.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to grinds is very practical, having taught myself applied mathematics for the leaving certificate a year before the exam and received an A1 in it. This shows that my methods of teaching and learning are based on a step-by-step approach where to progress we must fully understand what has been just learned, whereas as in most classroom's teachers will choose to move on regardless of whether students have gained a full understanding for the purpose of saving time. The level of mathematical knowledge gained from a mechanical engineering degree is inherently greater than that of most second-level mathematics teachers which allows me to provide students with a more comprehensive and easy approach to learning mathematics and physics.
