Information About Maica - Limerick tutor

Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Maica and I’m a native Spanish speaker currently based in Limerick. I hold a degree in English Language and Literature and I’m registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland. I have experience working with children and teenagers (ages 6–18), as well as with adults looking to improve their English or Spanish skills for academic or personal reasons.

I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and enjoy learning, whether it’s through school support, language practice, or structured lessons. I'm fully available and happy to teach both online and in person.

Tutoring Experience:

I have previously tutored Primary, Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students in English and Spanish, helping them with homework, writing, grammar, and exam preparation. I’ve also worked with adults who want to improve their spoken or written English, especially non-native speakers needing academic or professional support (ESL).

In addition, I have several years of experience caring for children between the ages of 3 and 10, which allows me to create a warm and supportive learning environment for younger students.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach is student-centred, friendly and adaptable. I tailor each lesson to the learner’s needs, whether they need help with schoolwork, want to practise speaking, or prepare for exams.

For school support, I focus on understanding the syllabus and developing effective study habits. For language learners, I use interactive methods to build vocabulary, fluency and confidence in real-life situations.

I’m always patient, encouraging and committed to helping my students feel motivated and capable.
