Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic, motivated teacher of English as a second language (ESL) and my aim is to ensure that every student reaches their true potential based on their abilities and needs. If you have difficulties with written English then I would love to help. My main area of experience is in online ESL tutoring for Asian students, therefore I have a keen eye for spelling and grammatical errors, sentence structure and form as well as the overall clarity and coherence of a piece of writing. I specialise in academic proofreading, specifically essays, reports and assignments, journal papers, graduate theses and dissertations up to PhD level and beyond. My primary goals are to be objective and positive in my feedback, clear and concise in reasoning why changes are required, and to provide helpful suggestions/edits when necessary.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught teenagers and adult ESL learners as well as tutoring children in extra-curricular activities, however my focus now is on editing and proofreading written work to be submitted for analysis and grading by educational professionals/teachers.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to teaching is to create an open dialogue between the student and I. I believe in the importance of active listening as much as instructing; in my experience students often find it difficult to express their needs and therefore a certain degree of intuition and interpretation are required to fully 'unlock' what a student would benefit the most from. Although I am not currently providing online/home grinds, I aim to develop a constructive rapport with each student requiring proofreading and essay correction.
